Board of Officers Elections Procedure (scroll down to see the candidates!)
Voting will take place at the Annual Member Party at noon on January 31, right before the read-through for Twelfth Night. We will also be voting on proposed changes to our bylaws at the same time. If you are unable to make it to this party, you may vote absentee by sending your choices in an email to [email protected]. Absentee ballots are not entirely secret, so you are encouraged to attend and vote in person. We'll be in the community room of the Arnold Urgent Care center, near the Arnold 14 cinema.
Before attending the Annual Member Party or absentee voting, please view the candidate platforms below. Vote for people who you think will do a good job in the office and who have shown their responsibility and dedication to the group, not just your best friends. You may only vote once, and you may not pressure others into voting for you or your friends. Voting is open only to members. The results will be posted on the ACTT website shortly after the Party.
If you are interested in running for the board, please fill out this candidate form by January 25th.
The board will consist of five equal officers to be elected by ACTT members, with titles and duties as follows (see below to see who is running for that position):
If you are interested in helping run things for the ACTT but none of these offices appeal to you or you don't want the full responsibility of an officer (or if you run for an office but don't get elected), you should join the Volunteer Squad. The Volunteer Squad is not part of the administrative board, but when the board has extra duties that they need help with (for example, they want a committee of people to work on organizing a bake sale), the Operations Manager of the board will contact the Volunteer Squad and ask for assistance. If you are interested in joining the Volunteer Squad at any time, please email [email protected].

The board will consist of five equal officers to be elected by ACTT members, with titles and duties as follows (see below to see who is running for that position):
- President: Leads meetings, tiebreaker in votes, various executive duties, oversees all committees
- Treasurer: Pays bills, watches bank account, learns about non-profit status, keeps track of all financial records (NOTE: You do not need to know about these things already as long as you are responsible and willing to learn)
- Secretary: Takes meeting minutes and makes those available to all ACTT members, schedules meetings and ensures attendance at meetings, database and inventory upkeep
- Publicist: Updates website (this is easy -- no prior knowledge required), contacts press, distributes posters (you don't have to make the posters, but you need to find someone to make them if you don't)
- Operations Manager: Responsible for any tasks which other officers need help with or any miscellaneous duties which are not explicitly included in other officers' duties. This officer must be competent in all other officer areas and/or willing to learn. The Operations Manager also oversees the Volunteer Squad. (see below)

I've been with ACTT since their first show, and I've loved every second of it, so I figured it was time for me to run for board. I would love to see ACTT thrive. We have a lot of great actors and sets that haven't received the appreciation they deserve. I hope to fix that by putting up more signs and posters (even if they have to be handmade) and spreading the word like it's an election year. More importantly though I want to bring elements of pure energy, enthusiasm, and excitement to both the meetings and the plays. With my adequate typing skills in data input (thanks to my wonderful job) and my love of learning, theatre, and helping others, I hope to serve the Arnold Community Theatre Troupe proudly and continue painting its great legacy.

I have been involved with the theatre troupe for a long time and want to see it succeed. I understand how things work from the actors perspective (A Christmas Carol, Wonderful Life, Brothers Grimm) and from the production team's perspective (Brothers Grimm, Polar Express). I did a lot of organizing and keeping track of things for Polar Express and believe I can apply those skills to the board.

My name is Mike Singer, III, and I would like to serve on the 2015 board of officers. I've served previously as Operations Assistant (then called gofer) in 2011 and as president in 2013. I am always eager to help ACTT, and have been a member since it's foundation. Currently. I am a law student at the St. Louis University School of Law.
