Attention all ACTT members:
We will soon be holding elections for the first administrative board of the Arnold Community Theatre Troupe. The board will consist of five officers to be elected by ACTT members, with titles and duties as follows: President: Leads meetings, tiebreaker in votes, various executive duties Treasurer: Pays bills, watches bank account, learns about non-profit status, keeps track of all financial records (NOTE: You do not need to know about these things already as long as you are responsible and willing to learn) Secretary: Takes meeting minutes and makes those available to all ACTT members, schedules meetings and ensures attendance at meetings, database and inventory upkeep Publicist: Updates website (this is easy -- no prior knowledge required), contacts press, distributes posters (you don't have to make the posters, but you need to find someone to make them if you don't) General Officer For Every Requirement (GOFER): Responsible for any tasks which other officers need help with or any miscellaneous duties which are not explicitly included in other officers' duties. This officer must be competent in all other officer areas and/or willing to learn. The GOFER also oversees the Gofer Squad. (see below) If you are interested in helping run things for the ACTT but none of these offices appeal to you or you don't want the full responsibility of an officer (or if you run for an office but don't get elected), you should join the Gofer Squad. The Gofer Squad is not part of the administrative board, but when the board has extra duties that they need help with (for example, they want a committee of people to work on organizing a bake sale), the GOFER of the board will contact the Gofer Squad and ask for assistance. **If you are interested in joining the Gofer Squad at any time, please email [email protected]** How elections will work: On August 9th, check the ACTT website's home page (arnoldcommunitytheatretroupe.weebly.com) for a link to candidates' platforms and a link to the online ballot. Please read the platforms before voting. Vote for people who you think will do a good job in the office, not just your best friends. On the ballot, you will be asked to rank candidates for each position. (For example: John, Jane, and Jack are all running for Secretary. A valid vote would look like this: 1st choice - John, 2nd choice - Jane, 3rd choice - Jack). VOTING WILL CLOSE AT MIDNIGHT ON AUGUST 10TH. The results will be posted on the ACTT website on August 11th or 12th. Candidates may run for multiple officers. If one person ends up winning multiple office elections, he or she will be given a choice of which office to accept, and the other office(s) will be filled by its runner-up. **If you want to run for an office**: Platforms are due August 7th. To submit your platform and candidacy for office, fill out this template and email it (along with a current photo of yourself) to [email protected] by midnight on August 7th. Name: Office: Experience: History with ACTT: Why you want this office: Don't stress too much about the last three questions; just type a few sentences that say everything you want people to know in a concise manner. AGAIN YOU MAY RUN FOR MULTIPLE OFFICES, but only run for the offices you would be happy to accept -- don't run for Treasurer and Secretary if you really only wanted to be Treasurer. If you are running for multiple offices, you don't have to send separate emails for each platform -- just put it all in one. |
